Daily Prayer - I Surrender to Love!

"In the twilight of life, God will not judge us on our earthly possession
and human success, but rather on how much we have loved."
~St. John of the Cross

Sweet Jesus, you save me every day and every day I need saving! By your grace we are saved – your sacrificial, humble, merciful, gratuitous grace…given to us by the Holy Spirit, dwelling very near in my heart.  Thank you, Jesus, for your grace and help me see that it is sufficient for me.

I want to Love you with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and love my “neighbor”, the people you place right next to me in life as you love us – fully. Mercifully, patiently, selflessly, not insisting on my own way.  Please give me the faith and presence of mind to seek you continually with my heart, to not be anxious about anything but to pray about everything. I want to surrender to your love and let it lead me this day!  Praise be to our God in Heaven who gave us such a savior in Jesus.  AMEN.

 Inspired by the following Scripture:

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.  I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Follow the pattern of the sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus; guard the truth that has been entrusted to you by the Holy spirit who dwells within us. 2 Timothy 1:13-14

And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.  Luke 10:27

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”  John 15:12

Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  2 Corinthians 13:4-7

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.  Hebrews 13:16

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  Jeremiah 29:13

Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. Hebrews 12:3

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience, forbearing one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, as you teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, and as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:12-17

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 2 Corinthians 13:3

Love never ends. 2 Corinthians 13:8

So, faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.  2 Corinthians 13:13

He who does not love does not know God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8
