A Beautiful Tapestry

…I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:18
(And you, Beth, are not…)

I am He who is, and you are she who is not. Think of Me and I will think of thee.

St. Catherine of Siena, The Dialogue

Holy Spirit: I am infinitely more qualified to order your life and your loves than you are because I see all the weaves and wefts of the tapestry of life from all time. I see the colors, the blends of them. I see the snags and the missed stitches – yet I can make a beautiful life of it – even the stains.  But you have to let me weave and mend and clean and direct the design – all ordered to my will – not yours.  You get the beauty, though. The tapestry to warm your house, tell your story and inspire you with its beauty. The intricacies of the design and the patterns are unique, just for you – your part in my design.  I need you to hold your thread and be your color so the whole story fits together.  A unity of love and mercy – yet my design.  The beauty of which is beyond your comprehension. My Son is the master Weaver – He is the instrument of my grace and mercy.  Let Him direct your colors and movements so you can be woven into my tapestry of Saints. I am the LORD.

            Me: Ok :)

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17

Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire. St. Catherine of Siena

…let us - together - make something beautiful for God.  St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.  John 10:10

You shall be holy; for I the LORD your God am holy. Leviticus 19:2

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock, and my redeemer.  Psalms 19:14

But who can discern his errors? Clear me from hidden faults. Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me!  Psalms 19:12-13

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fulness of God.  Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21

Accept whatever is brought upon you, and in changes that humble you be patient. Sirach 2:4

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Psalms 37:5

The Resurrection of Christ

“These are Flemish tapestries executed in Brussels by the workshop of Pieter van Aelst at the time of Pope Clement VII (1523-1534) on cartoons (tapestry patterns) by Raphael’s pupils.  They were first exhibited in the Sistine Chapel in 1531 and set up for exhibition in this gallery in 1838.”
